What is it, Why would I need it, How does it work,
Do other people use it?
Everyone has “psychic” or “intuitive” abilities, whether we recognise them or not, and as individuals we use these abilities in many different ways. Some people use them consciously on a day to day basis, other people without being aware of them at all.
So what are “psychic” or “intuitive” abilities? The word “psychic” is often loosely used to cover a whole range of subjects such as clairvoyance,[ clear seeing], clairaudience, [clear hearing], psychometry, [reading information from jewellery etc], palmistry, [reading the lines on the hand], ESP, [extra sensory perception] and so on.
The majority of people live with their own individual abilities or “gifts” without ever being aware that they have them, some people may be familiar and comfortable their “knowing”, “sight”, “premonition”, etc and put it down to “Oh its just something I fee or know” or “I don’t know how I know it, I just do”.
A smaller percentage of people are aware of their gifts and abilities, and use them on a regular basis, they are not necessarily working in the field of psychic or clairvoyant matter, they just recognise, accept, and use those abilities in their daily lives.
An even smaller percentage are the people who are very in tune with their abilities or gifts and use them on a daily basis, in some cases to assist others in the day to day events in their lives, often answering questions or providing insights into the how and why of things. Some of these people may work in the realms of spiritual guidance, psychic and clairvoyant readings or through counseling and friendships.

With the advent of television programs such as Charmed, and The Medium, movies such as Sixth Sense, Gothika, and Hide and Seek, and the number of spiritual magazines available now more and more people are becoming aware of the fact that there are things around for which they do not have a logical explanation. Or they may be questioning things that for years they have taken for granted.
Other people are actively working to develop their own gifts and understanding through reading, workshops, seminars, courses and so on.
With this new recognition and awareness of “energies” on a “psychic” level there comes the need to recognise and understand just what we are dealing with. What are these energies? Where do they come from? Is it a positive energy or a negative energy etc, etc……
The energy around us is often described as Universal or Cosmic energy and it is an impersonal force, neither good nor bad, it just is. It only becomes positive or negative energy with the intention of the person directing its use.
I personally prefer the words positive and negative as an explanation rather than the old adage of good and evil.
We ourselves as human beings are beings of energy, a soul or a spirit contained in a “human” body which allows us to move freely around this Earth plane that we live on. As we move ourselves through our lives we constantly interact with other like beings and other forms of energy.
We are composed of “layers” of energies which interact with one another, and an example of this is the Aura, a large bubble of energy which surrounds us, it extends approximately two metres above, below and all around us.
The human aura was photographed as early as 1898, and the process was refined in the 1930’s by Russian scientist Semyon Kirlian and his wife Valentina, resulting in today’s Kirlian Photography, which is often seen at New Age and Psychic Expo’s and advertised as Aura Photography.
With the advent of “New Age” conciousness there has been a definite swing towards things Metaphysical, and many people with or without developed psychic or intuitive abilities have commenced to delve in to or explore areas that previously would have held little interest for them.
This can be likened to the lure of the “unknown”, how often is it that television programs depict something that seems so simple, or magazines advertise “spells” to achieve the things that you desire in your life. No longer do you need to work to achieve “love” or “success”, you may simply buy it off a shelf. Please send ?? $$$. This can be likened to the old saying that “a little knowledge can be dangerous”, especially if you not understand what the results of that “simple spell” or “wish” may be.
