35. New Mother
Sound Number 35
Description of Sound
Created to release the stress fears and anxieties associated with being a New Mother or a Female Parent. Especially in these days of “blended” families a person may take on the role of being a “Mother” figure without ever having given birth.
The new Mother sounds address the issues and patterns of concern and anxiety which are experienced by many “new parents”, and which may be held within the cellular structure of the body.
These gentle sounds release these stored levels of anxiety and fears, replacing them with a positive sense of well being and calmness. It is interesting t note that they often present during a practitioner assessment of sounds suitable for that client both male and female and can be related to issues of new businesses or venture where one is “birthing a new idea or venture.

How this sound came about
The New Mother sounds were created to assist a young client who suddenly became a “Mother” to a three year old small girl.
My client just eighteen years of age and her partner a few years older received a phone call one morning to tell them that the child protection agency would be dropping off her partner’s child from a previous relationship later that day.
The child was being removed from her mother for lack of care, and being placed in her father’s temporary custody.
My client, just a few months into a relationship, was suddenly presented with a small girl to not only care for but also to “Mother” and was at a loss. In many instances little more than a child herself, she not only had to care for the physical needs of a child she had never met, but also to provide a level of bonding with, connection to and love for that child.
Now this is an extreme set of circumstances, however it made me aware of how many people suddenly become “parents”.
My late husband, who did not have children of his own took on 5 children who were not his some 30 years ago and was very much and still is “Dad” to them all despite his passing in 1992.
I have 4 “extra” children from a long term relationship after my husband passed away, and in this instance it was a relationship with an old friend, so these children had already been a part of my life for many years and I have gone from being Aunty Sheila to Aunty Mum, and eventually Mum over the years.
Other instances of a woman giving birth and due to the birth process eg caesarean section having no feeling of connection or even a bond with the baby, or a new father who has felt disconnected from the whole pregnancy and birth processes as in many cultures it is seen as “women’s stuff”.
This thought then gave rise to the New Father sounds.
Comment from Susan – Excellent sound for a new mother for a child, circumstance, situation or business. I play this sound fairly frequently for clients with new projects. And just for the record – it is not limited to women only. Also good if you are learning how or wanting to nurture yourself – women (myself included) are notorious for putting others before themselves, sometimes we all need a little mothering, especially for ourselves.
