How this sound came about
Often the areas that the specific sounds address are presented to us as we have personally grown and developed and in this instance they were to assist and address the levels of awareness of accountability following on from the creation of the Dependence and Independence sounds.
While dependence or dependant behaviours which can also be described as someone exhibiting issues of neediness, helplessness, defenselessness, vulnerability, a need for support or someone to cling to for example be something that we can assimilate and assist with in the short term it can become extremely debilitating in the long term and then the issues of accountability surface as well.
Although we may be willing to be that ‘support person’ for a period of time it is often unhealthy for the other person or even detrimental to ourselves to allow the situation to continue indefinitely with a sense of accountability for that person.
Gently withdrawing such support or attempting to assist the other person to be more self sufficient or independent and accountable for themselves can often lead to accusations of not caring, of not being supportive and at times acrimonious or over reactive behaviours and displays of grieving and loss.
In being able to facilitate the letting go of a dependence and replacing it with a more independent attitude and way of adjusting, we are I believe assisting that person to live their own life more fully
As Susan has said in the past many of the sounds have come about from our own needs as we go along, or from viewing what clients and friends require and then discussing such with each other and Sounds From Source themselves. I never tire of this ‘work’ – connecting and working with Sounds from Source is as thrilling for me today as it was when we were first contacted back in 2004.
In business situation the Accountability sounds are also of great benefit in releasing areas of accountability also.
Comment from Susan – Accountability – this is another excellent sound to help you become accountable with yourself for whatever your targets or situation may be. If however, you are accountable to another or another is accountable to you – here is where our old friend ‘perception and viewpoint’ comes to the forefront yet again. Be sure that when dealing with others that what you are both ‘accountable’ for is clear and defined for both or all parties. If there is confusion – use this sound to help smooth the pathway for better communication around this concept and for better communication and definition around the framework of accountability. To often another’s viewpoint can override in these situations – this sound will help with clarity and fairness around defining accountabilities in this area for all parties.
